Dr. Wassim Shatila is an American Board Certified Interventional Cardiologist in charge of a structural cardiology program.
Dr. Shatila specializes in performing complex cardiac procedures including coronary, structural, and peripheral/vascular interventions without the need for surgery. These procedures include non-invasive valve replacement or repair (TAVI, mitral valvuplasty, among others), cardiac defect repair (ASD, PFO), aortic therapies (EVAR for aneurysm repair), venous therapies (varicose vein ablation), and complex coronary interventions (CTO therapy, among others).
Education
He received his American Board of Cardiology in 2017 and his American Board of Interventional Cardiology in 2018.
After completing his medical school, he finished his residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center which is one of the top hospitals in the USA. He then completed his fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Texas Heart Institute/Baylor College of Medicine.
