Dr. Venkatesh Machikanti is a Specialist in Radiologist at Medcare Hospital Sharjah. He completed his MBBS from PES Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Andhra Pradesh, India, his MD in Radio Diagnosis from Narayana Medical College, Nellore, India, and his Diplomate (DNB) in Radiology from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India. He also holds a Diploma in Radiology (EdiR) from the European Board of Radiology. He is a Life member of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) and the Indian College of Radiology and Imaging (ICRI).
Dr. Machikanti is a passionate Radiologist with abundant experience in Neuroimaging, Musculoskeletal and cross-sectional imaging with a special interest in post-processing techniques and the optimisation of image quality. During the nascency of his career, he was a Senior Resident at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), then an Assistant professor at the Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College and Hospital (SVMCH), both in Puducherry, India. Later, he joined as an Assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at Narayana Medical College, Nellore. Subsequently, he relocated to the UAE to essay the role of a Specialist Radiologist at NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah.
He strongly believes in clinical Radiology, and musculoskeletal imaging and neuroimaging are his forte. He reads and interprets medical images, using a wide range of imaging techniques, including X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET), and molecular imaging. He has a special interest in teaching Radiology to UG and PG students.
