Dr.Sathish Kumar Thirumurthy Kaliappa is a General Surgeon working with the Medcare Royal Speciality Hospital in Dubai and Medcare Hospital in Sharjah and Khawaneej branch of Medcare Medical Centre. He completed his MBBS from the Sri Ramachandra Medical College in Chennai, India and his MS, specializing in General Surgery from the Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India.
During the initial years of his career, he joined PSG Institute Of Medical Sciences and Research and PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore, India as an Assistant Professor and Consultant Surgeon, then rose to the position of Associate Professor and Professor at the same Institute. He then joined Karpagam Faculty of Medical Sciences and Research as a Professor and Consultant Surgeon, before relocating to the UAE. Here, he was appointed as a Specialist in General Surgery at Zulekha Hospital, Sharjah and Dubai and then at NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah.
