- Dr. Mohammed Raafat is a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon with 20 years of experience. His areas of special interest include deep vein thrombosis (DVT) management methods (thrombectomy, IVUS, and stenting—both acute setting and chronic post-thrombotic). One of the key highlights of his career is the pioneering use of advanced catheters for dissolving blood clots, intravascular ultrasound, and branched grafts for patients with enlarged pelvic arteries in the UAE.
- He is the co-founder of the Emirates Vascular Surgery Society (EVSS) and currently serves as the general secretary of the society. Dr. Raafat is also on the advisory board of numerous international endovascular equipment companies and helps them improve and innovate techniques and devices in vascular surgery. Additionally, he is a member of the higher committee for medical liability in the field of vascular surgery.
