He completed his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, affiliated to Mangalore University and his MD in Internal Medicine from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) University, also in Mangalore, India. Additionally, he holds a DM in Nephrology from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore, affiliated with Dr. MGR University, India. He was privileged to participate in an Observer-ship at the Multi-organ Transplant Unit of Toronto General Hospital, Canada, and the Asian Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea.

Dr. Ahamed started his career as a Resident at Kasturba Medical College Hospital in Mangalore, followed by a stint at the Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore, as a Lecturer and as an Assistant Professor at Kasturba Medical College Hospital. Later, he joined the Christian Medical College & Hospital, spending almost a decade there, first as a Registrar and then as a Nephrologist. He worked briefly as a Consultant Nephrologist at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Bangalore, India, before relocating to the UAE. Here, he served as a Specialist in Nephrology at the Universal Hospital and as a Specialist Nephrologist & Transplant Physician at Burjeel Medical Centre, both in Abu Dhabi.
