Dr. Ahmed Azmy is a Specialist in the Orthopaedic Department of the Medcare Hospital. After completing his MBChB, he underwent training at Benha University, Egypt from where he obtained his master’s degree. He has a Fellowship from the Bruderkrankenhaus Hospital (Germany) in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery and a second Fellowship in Recent Advances of Management of Trauma and Fractures from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany).
Dr. Azmy has more than a decade of professional experience across Egypt, Oman and the UAE. He commenced his career as a House officer with the Tanta University, then became the Chief Medical Officer at Mubarak Military Hospital and Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Alyob Public Hospital, all in Egypt. He also spent some time as an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at the Benha University Hospital, in Egypt before moving to the Sultanate of Oman to join the Ibra Hospital as a Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery. He garnered rich experience as a Senior Specialist at Khoula Hospital, the main orthopaedic referral and tertiary hospital in Oman, where he accomplished more than 1000 surgeries. He then moved to the UAE, where he joined the Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE as Head of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department. He was the scientific coordinator for the Ministry of Health Orthopaedic (MOHAP) Club. He also served as a trainer for Orthopaedic Residents and medical school students. Dr. Azmy has had the distinction of being the Head of the Orthopaedic and Physiotherapy Departments at the Saudi German Health Hospitals, UAE, having performed more than 600 surgeries. Before joining Medcare, he served as a part-time Lecturer at Ajman University.
