Dr. Salma Khanam Patan is a Specialist in Internal Medicine at Medcare Hospital. She obtained her MBBS from Kurnool Medical College under the NTR University of Health Sciences, India and her MD in Internal Medicine from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in Tirupati, India. She also holds a Fellowship in Diabetes Mellitus from Medvarsity, affiliated with the British Medical Council. Additionally, she holds Certifications in AI in healthcare from the Aster Health Academy and Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association. She is a member of the Emirates Medical Association and the Association for Physicians of India.
Dr. Patan is a dynamic Internal Medicine Specialist and diabetologist with over a decade of experience in all fields of Internal Medicine. She is a five-time Gold medal awardee from a Government Medical College and was lauded for extraordinary patient care in the areas of acute and chronic medical conditions as well as infectious diseases. She began her exemplary career as a Junior Resident in Internal Medicine at SV Medical College, Tirupati and then as a Senior Resident in Cardiology at Fortis Hospital, Mohali, both in India. Later, she worked as an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at GCRG Medical College, an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Integral University, and as a Consultant in Internal Medicine at Charak Hospital and Research Centre, all in Lucknow, India. Subsequently, she relocated to the UAE, where she first worked as a Specialist in Internal Medicine at Aster Hospital, Dubai and then at NMC Medical Centre, Sharjah.
